Lessons

"First Step" $25

Parent and child work together with the help of an instructor. The instructor will coach the parent on teaching the child to guide and control their pony while mounted, and on grooming techniques. This is a 30 minute lesson Ages 2 and up.

Evaluation Lesson $25

Each evaluation lesson serves as an introduction to the riding program.  In this lesson, an instructor can assess the student's riding abilities.  Following the evaluation, the instructor will discuss the student's abilities, needs, and goals, and establish a personalized riding program.

Beginning Rider $30

This class is for children ready to move up from First Step. The child will ride alone or with a maximum of 1 additional rider. Grooming the pony will also be covered. This is a 45 minute lesson.

Beginning I Equitation $30

The Beginning Equitation lessons are each one hour long.  In this class the rider is instructed in the following: proper handling of the horse, mounting and dismounting, and correct body position. Control at the walk and trot is taught, including posting and two point. When the rider is ready, cantering will be introduced.

Beginner II Equitation $30

In this lesson, students learn safe handling of the horse and correct body position for optimal balance and jumping.  Control at the canter and knowledge of leads are introduced at this time. Riders learn to jump a single jump no higher than 18 inches.

Beginning Jump $35

In Beginning Jump, the same concepts are taught in Beginner II Equitation, but at a more advanced level. Riders learn to negotiate a course of cross-rails and small verticals.

Intermediate Jump $35

Basic skills introduced in beginning jump are practiced at a higher level in Intermediate Jump.  Correct leads and lead changes are introduced, while maintaining a controlled canter.  Students learn to negotiate a course of jumps set at 2 feet.
